While attending high school and Muhlenberg College, Lauren was active playing field hockey, swimming on the Kutztown Dolphin Swim Team, which she later coached.

Lauren was on the all-star field hockey team and also a member of the Board of Associates as the student representative while attending Muhlenberg College. She was a member of the Lehigh County Dental Society, and Pennsylvania and American Dental Associations.

She also participated in two dental mission trips, first to Peru, then to Venezuela providing dental care to the underprivileged.

• Lauren and Peter were married for 22 years.

• Peter and Lauren owned and operated the Haviland Grille, Allentown during the 1980's.

• Lauren and Peter were members of Saint Paul's UCC Church, Kutztown
